Q. What does sponsorship mean to us?
A. By sponsoring an animal, you’re helping to ensure they continue to receive the best possible care; the funds you give us go towards their upkeep, food, healthcare and protection.
Q. Why is sponsorship important?
A. We run two animal parks – one for dogs and one for cats – which alone are home to more than 50 animals. We also take responsibility for all the dogs and cats living on the streets of Üzümlü.
PAWS ensures animals are protected against parasites and vaccinated against life-threatening diseases. We also cover medical care if they are sick or injured and arrange for them to be neutered.
For our park animals we provide fresh water, food and shelter. Their environment also needs regular maintenance work. In addition, we sometimes have to place an animal in paid-for foster care, which is a huge cost. Sponsorship helps with all this.
Q. How much does it cost to sponsor an animal?
A. We ask for a minimum of £5 a month for each animal sponsored, but you are welcome to give more if you wish. Payment is usually made by regular monthly donation into our UK account.
Q. Will I receive information and updates?
A. Yes. All sponsors receive a personalised digital certificate which can be printed out.
Q. How long do I have to sponsor for? Is there a minimum period?
A. There is no minimum period for sponsorship and you can cancel at any time.
Q. What if someone else is already sponsoring the animal I like?
A. That's not a problem. Some of our animals are very popular and may have more than one sponsor. In these cases, if the amount of money raised is more than required by that animal each month, we reserve the right to use a portion to provide essentials for unsponsored animals. Prices are forever increasing, as does the cost of supporting an animal each month. Some animals might need additional medical treatment or regular medication, and one month’s sponsorship will not stretch that far – so we really appreciate it when more than one person covers these ongoing costs.
Q. What happens if my sponsored animal becomes ill, goes missing or dies?
A. You will be notified as soon as possible of any major events affecting your sponsor dog or cat. If an illness or injury requires treatment we may ask if you would like to donate towards the cost but you are under no obligation to do so. If a dog or cat dies or goes missing for a prolonged time, we’ll ask if you want to transfer your sponsorship to another animal or for it to continue as a regular donation. Again, you are under no obligation.
