Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What does sponsorship mean to us?

A. By sponsoring an animal, you are helping to ensure they continue to receive the best possible care, as the sponsorship funds help to pay to towards their upkeep and protection.

Q. Why is sponsorship important?

A. We run two animal parks – one for dogs and one for cats.  We also take responsibility for al the street dogs and cats of Üzümlü. Our parks alone have over 50 animals in.

PAWS ensures protection from parasites, vaccinations against life-threatening diseases and also covers medical care such as sickness, injury and neutering. For our park animals we also provide fresh water, food and shelter and at times requires maintenance. From time to time we have to place an animal in paid for foster care, this comes at a huge cost to the charity. Sponsorship funds help towards these on-going costs.

Q. How much does it cost to sponsor an animal?

A. We ask for a minimum of £5 a month for each animal sponsored but you are welcome to give more if you wish. Payment is usually made by direct debit into our UK account.

Q. Will I receive information and updates on my new friend?

A. Yes. All sponsors will receive a personalised digital certificate to print out, along with an invitation to join our sponsors-only online group where you can find regular 'pupdates’ on both the park and its residents.

Q. How long do I have to sponsor for? Is there a minimum period?

A. There is no minimum period for sponsorship and you can cancel your sponsorship at any time.

Q. What if someone else is already sponsoring the animal I like?

A. That's not a problem. Some of our animals are very popular and may have more than one sponsor. In these cases if the amount of money raised is more than that dog or cat requires for the month, we may use a portion of it provide essentials for unsponsored animals. Our reality is prices are forever increasing and the cost to support an animal each month continues to increase. We also need to take into account that some animals may require additional medical treatment, or require monthly medication, and one month’s sponsorship will not stretch this far so we really appreciate more then one sponsor to cover these on-going costs.

Q. What happens if my sponsored animal becomes ill, goes missing, or dies?

A. You will be notified as soon as possible of any major events affecting your dog or cat. If an illness or injury requires treatment we may ask if you would like to donate towards the cost but you are under no obligation to do so. If a dog or cat dies or goes missing for a prolonged time, we may ask if you want to transfer your sponsorship to another animal or for it to continue as a regular donation. Again, you are under no obligation to do so.
