Poppy
Height to shoulder: 72cm
Height to head: 82cm
A young dog, aged around 18 months
- Very gentle when child-tested with a nine-year-old. She hasn't been around smaller humans but with slow introduction (due to her size) we don't anticipate this will be a problem as she has a friendly, calming nature.
- Walks well to heel on the lead.
- Happy to get into a car and travel in the boot.
- She has been observed interacting with a male and female dog, both face to face and behind a fence, and was friendly and gentle.
- No sign of aggression towards cats during her time in the village.
- Friendly and trusting, she is sociable with people and enjoys chilling by their side or lying at their feet. She really enjoys company.
- Beautiful markings with a light-coloured brindle coat and eyes that look as though liner has been applied.
- Playful and intelligent - a gentle giant with a happy character.
- Craves her own person or family.
- Neutered and vaccinated by PAWS.
Poor Poppy was once owned but then discarded - she has marks around her neck where there was once a collar.

She is a big girl, which means local people are scared of her and treat her meanly as a result.

She has a friendly and playful nature, but life on the streets has left her scared. She's been attacked by other dogs as she has new wounds on her legs, neck and ears.

Poppy is struggling to find her place after losing her home and finding herself in less than welcoming surroundings.

She also had health issues when their were complications when she was neutered and we were warned she might not make it. She's a fighter, though, and made it through a second operation, which went well.

Although she was sheltering in a local barn, the reaction of other people meant we had to move her to paid foster care.
She's safe now, but she really needs a home of her own where she is loved.
