Charlie has previously suffered trauma to his eye, perhaps by a kick or an item being thrown at him. He still has sight out this eye but it is limited. This doesn’t have any impact on his fun loving, beautiful character.

We have moved Bozo back to a previous foster placement where he thrived. We know he can learn to trust again and rebuild his confidence while we look for a permanent home. He needs consistency and stability and deserves nothing but love and care - he'll more than repay you in loyalty and adoration.

History: Rusty Rupert found himself lost and alone after being dumped in August 2024. He did have an older dog to spend his days with, Flo who would watch over him but - fortunately for her - she found a foster placement. Since then, Rusty has been on his own and missing his friend.

He has never been taught how to behave and only knows street life, so he likes to chase free-roaming chickens. This has upset the chicken owners and put this poor pup at risk.

Socks has had a terrible start to life. Still so young, he has already had trauma to one eye and fungal infections in both ears, and was dumped in Üzümlü with no food source or shelter.

Medical investigations revealed tumours in his mouth, stomach and foot. Arthur is an old boy but his health is otherwise good. He now lives at the park but we are desperate to find him a retirement home.

He is a sweet boy who just needs kindness. He has a huge shelter but chooses to hide under the ramp leading into it; he doesn't know what love and care are.

POPPY

Female

Large; young

• Friendly and affectionate

• Gorgeous colour and markings

• Playful, intelligent and happy

• Neutered and vaccinated

History: Poor Poppy was dumped with her collar removed - there are marks on her neck where it used to be. Once loved but now discarded, she's a big girl which means she scares the locals and they are mean to her as a result.

Poppy is struggling to find her place, surrounded by people and other animals who are unwelcoming. She needs a safe home of her own where she can thrive without risk.

Her perfect home would be quiet and peaceful. Watching as Jessie develops in confidence and reveals her endearing qualities would be a rewarding experience for her forever family.

LIZZIE

Female - Rabies vaccinated and blood tests completed for outside Türkiye travel.

  • Walks well on the lead; happy to travel in a car

  • Intelligent and loves learning new things - such as how to play, which she never had the opportunity to do as a street dog

  • Enjoys human interaction

  • Full of life and energy; loves games such as 'fetch'

  • Craves human attention and is happiest when being fussed in the sun

  • Happy around people and other dogs

  • Neutered and vaccinated

  • Could live as a solo dog or with another that enjoys playing

History: Poor Lizzie was one of two dogs at risk in the local shelter. To save them both from a life of loneliness and potentially life-threatening diseases, PAWS Üzümlü took on responsibility for them. Upon entering the park, Lizzie transformed from a lost soul to an energetic, loving young girl who blossomed overnight.

We believe Lizzie has only ever known street - and now park - life. She doesn't know what it's like to feel warm, to snuggle by the fire, to have her own bed. Lizzie will spend her days by your side, offering companionship, love and loyalty in return for a chest-tickle.

PHILIP

Male - Rabies vaccinated and blood tests completed for outside Türkiye travel.

Medium; 12-18 months

  • Walks well on the lead; happy to travel in the car

  • Intelligent, loves learning new skills and playing games such as 'fetch' and 'ball'

  • If you like snuggly dogs, you'll love Philip; he adores fuss and will rest his head on your arm

  • A lovely boy who is great with people; however, he can forget his size and be bouncy and excitable so we'd suggest any children in the household should be aged over 14

  • Neutered and vaccinated

  • Could live as a solo dog or with another that enjoys playtime

After a turbulent start in life, watching Philip grow in confidence and his true character grow in a home environment  will be a rewarding experience for his forever family.

History: Philip was one of two dogs at risk in the local shelter. To save them from a life of loneliness and potentially life-threatening diseases, PAWS Üzümlü took responsibility for them. Upon his arrival, Philip became very unwell with a lung infection. The vet warned us he might not make it, but Philip is a fighter and he pulled through.

LUCY

Female

Small; approx 3 years

  • Can be worried by new faces and situations so needs an understanding home that will give her time to settle in at her own pace; her sweet, affectionate side will then shine through

  • Respectful of other dogs and loves their company

  • Calm-natured and enjoys social interaction

  • Comfortable around cats she know

  • Prefers to be outside rather than in a house

  • Neutered and vaccinated.

  • Could live as a solo dog or would love to live with another dog

  • Lucy's new family will need to be understanding and aware she's likely to need help with situations such as getting used to a home environment

Lucy needs a calm, patient person to show her kindness and help her develop trust and confidence at her own pace in a quiet environment to match her personality.

History: In 2023 Lucy found herself alone in the village, scared of everything - even her own shadow. She started to trust people and thrive as a street dog but we believe she was ill-treated as she has become very nervous and scared again.
